Safe & Supportive Housing

At Serenity Steps, we believe a stable home is the foundation for lasting recovery. Our residence is fully furnished and thoughtfully maintained to provide a calm, clean, and comfortable environment where residents can focus on healing and personal growth.

We offer both shared and semi-private room options, allowing each resident to feel a sense of privacy while still being part of a connected community. Common areas are welcoming and functional, with shared spaces like the living room and kitchen designed to encourage respectful interaction and a sense of belonging.

The home is drug- and alcohol-free at all times, with clear expectations in place to protect the safety and sobriety of all residents. Our policies ensure that every person in the house is held to the same standard of accountability, creating a consistent and respectful environment for recovery.

Whether you’re transitioning from treatment, incarceration, or a personal crisis, Serenity Steps offers a place to reset — with the structure, support, and peace needed to move forward

Weekly Drug & Alcohol Testing

Maintaining a safe, substance-free environment is one of our top priorities at Serenity Steps. To support this, all residents participate in regular drug and alcohol testing as part of our accountability structure.

We conduct weekly urine tests, which screen for a wide panel of substances, including alcohol through EtG testing. This consistent monitoring not only reinforces each resident’s commitment to sobriety, but also ensures a safe and supportive space for everyone in the home.

Testing is handled with professionalism and discretion, and results are documented in accordance with house policy. Residents are informed of expectations during intake, and any violation of the drug and alcohol policy is addressed with clear consequences and appropriate support.

Our approach is not punitive — it’s protective. We view testing as a tool for maintaining integrity in the house and providing each resident with the structure they need to succeed.

Community Support

At Serenity Steps, we know that recovery isn’t a journey meant to be taken alone. That’s why we foster a strong sense of community rooted in mutual respect, accountability, and encouragement.

Our residents support one another through peer-based accountability, offering honest feedback, shared responsibility, and daily encouragement. Whether it’s checking in on a housemate, sharing recovery wins, or simply listening when someone needs to talk — community support is a vital part of life in the house.

We promote a culture of respect, honesty, and growth, where every resident is expected to show up not just for themselves, but for the group. This mindset creates a healthy, uplifting environment that motivates everyone to stay focused and push forward.

In addition to the structure and daily routines, we offer optional group activities, shared meals, and occasional outings to help build deeper connections and reinforce a sense of belonging. Many residents form lasting friendships and support networks that extend beyond their time at Serenity Steps.

Our community is our strength — and we believe that together, we heal stronger.

Recovery Structure & Support

At Serenity Steps, structure is key to sustained recovery. We offer a supportive daily rhythm designed to keep residents grounded, accountable, and actively engaged in their growth.

All residents are required to attend three to five recovery meetings per week. These can include 12-step groups, SMART Recovery, Celebrate Recovery, or other approved programs that align with their journey. These meetings help reinforce healthy habits, provide outside perspective, and connect residents to a larger recovery network.

In addition to external meetings, we hold weekly house meetings where residents come together to check in, share updates, resolve issues, and strengthen the sense of unity within the home. These meetings foster open communication, transparency, and collective responsibility.

Residents also receive regular one-on-one check-ins with a house manager or peer leader. These conversations provide space to set goals, reflect on progress, and receive support or redirection as needed.

Our recovery structure is designed to be both steady and supportive — a foundation that helps each resident develop confidence, resilience, and a plan for long-term success.
